Job Description: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

We're looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team and lead all financial operations. The CFO will play a crucial role in shaping our financial strategy, ensuring the company’s financial health, and guiding us through growth and challenges. This role involves working closely with the CEO, board of directors, and other key leaders to drive our financial goals and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term financial strategies aligned with the company's vision and objectives
  • Lead on all greenfield site expansions
  • Lead on building a standalone entity
  • Identify all future target acquisitions
  • Lead the monthly integration of financial data from the separate legal entities
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful financial analysis, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth
  • Develop and implement financial models to assess investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and potential acquisitions
  • Lead on the inorganic growth, planning and executing on two acquisitions a year
  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance in line with regulatory requirements
  • Provide regular financial performance updates to the executive team and private equity investors, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial trends
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, risk assessments, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the business's financial stability and to optimize capital allocation
  • Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions to secure financing and banking services that align with the company's needs
  • Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and policies to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Work with the audit and compliance teams to facilitate external audits and ensure adherence to all reporting and regulatory requirements
  • Act as the primary liaison with private equity investors, providing financial updates, responding to inquiries, and building strong relationships to instill confidence in the business's financial management
  • Identify and manage financial risks, implementing risk mitigation strategies to protect the business from potential adverse impacts
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

    Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute financial strategies that align with our business objectives. Lead the creation and management of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team to inform decision-making.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend adjustments to stay on track. Present financial reports to the board of directors, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring we have strong internal controls to protect our assets. Ensure we comply with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Cash Flow & Capital Management: Manage our cash flow to ensure we have the funds needed to operate efficiently. Oversee our capital structure and build strong relationships with investors, banks, and other financial partners.
  • Develop strategies for raising capital, whether through equity, debt, or other means.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure we're following all financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards. Work closely with auditors, tax advisors, and legal professionals to maintain accurate and compliant financial practices.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor our finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Develop talent within the department and ensure we have strong succession plans in place.
  • Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Evaluate and oversee mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic financial transactions. Lead financial due diligence and negotiations in M&A activities.
  • Technology & Systems: Oversee the implementation and optimization of our financial systems, including ERP and accounting software. Stay current with emerging financial technologies and recommend improvements to enhance our operations.
